WHY IT MATTERS
“When I was in middle school, I was bullied so badly. Girls started an ‘I Hate Demi’ petition and sent me mean texts. There were girls who stood outside my house and yelled things from across the street! It was the ‘popular’ girls who did it-they had all the power and wanted to make sure no one took it away. It got so bad, I kind of went into a depression. The only friend I had was Selena [Gomez], who always stood up for me. But being bullied scarred me for life. That’s why I got involved with Love Our Children USA. I don’t want anyone to suffer like I did.” -DEMI LOVATO

How I made it my Mission!
“My whole life, I’ve been teased for being small, which really hurt. But what made me finally take a stand against bullying was watching my best friend get cyberbullied. She was so embarrassed, and she felt so alone-I realized how fast bullying can spiral out of control. So I started visiting schools and Boys & Girls Clubs to talk about ending bullying. Last year, I started an antibullying week in my town and asked everyone to wear a blue shirt to show their support. And this year, I brought Bullying Awareness Month to my whole state!” Check out Jordon’s tips at jordonfonville.com.
